Is Your AC Ready For Summer?

Summer is about to arrive, and it is advised to prepare your A/C before you start using it for the cooling season. The last thing you want is your AC stopping to work on the first day of a scorching hot summer.

Here are a few steps to follow to ensure your AC is ready for summer.

1. Clean or replace AC filters

First things first, check out your AC filter. This step is arguably the most important, but the easiest too, as most ACs come with a replaceable or reusable filter in the air-handler cabinet. Some systems might also have air filters in the return air-registers in the house. If you have not replaced your AC filters for the last two years, do so. If not, clean them; however, some filters might require a replacement before two years. You can consult air conditioning Cherry Hill NJ to check if cleaning is fine or a replacement is required.

2. Clean condenser coils

The big metal box with grill-like sides is the condenser unit of a central air conditioner. There is a fan with blades behind the grilles, which is protected by a condenser tarp to prevent the accumulation of debris. However, these condenser covers do not provide 100 percent protection, and some of the coils might get clogged.

Clogging can cut down the efficiency of the condenser; thus, be sure to clean these coils at the beginning of the cooling season. For cleaning the coils, remove the top and side panels from the condenser, and use a refrigerator coil brush to remove the accumulated dust and debris.

If the debris is stuck or not easily removed with a brush, spray some AC coil cleaner from the inside. However, this step can be risky and require Jersey City air conditioning repair services.

3. Clear debris from the condenser

Scoop leaves and debris out of condenser base, and if there is a drain, make sure it is clear. Use a rag and vacuum to clean the blower's fan blades. If the motor has any oil pores, put a few drops of Wd-40 or lightweight oil into the ports of lubrication. Now, tighten any loose mounting boults, and mop up excess water inside the unit. Reassemble the condenser and remove any weeds and vines that may obstruct the airflow through the condenser. If the debris is too stubborn to get rid of, air conditioning repair Delaware services.

4. Check coolant lines

The refrigerant tubes running from the evaporator to the condenser are covered with foam coolant line insulation to increase energy efficiency. Check for areas where insulation is missing, and replace it with foam insulation sleeves.

5. Test the AC unit

Allow the unit to dry for a couple of hours. Now, turn off the thermostat, power on the power at the disconnected box and main panel, and switch on the thermostat to cool.

Conclusion

Follow the above steps to quickly prepare your AC for the upcoming cooling season. If the AC is still not running properly, consult AC repair Voorhees services.

Tips to find the best electrician in New Jersey NJ

Unless you live a nomad life in the forest, you need electricity almost throughout the day. Electricity has become a utility, which we rely on, every single minute. Electricity is also a leading cause of fire damage around the world. Unfortunately, each electrical appliance you have can turn into a fire hazard, if not maintained properly. In such cases, hiring a reliable electrician is essential. An electrician is important for fixing, replacing, or adding electrical appliances in your household. How to choose a reliable service provider for such a crucial job?

Search online

The best way to find a good electrician is the internet. Search on Google or Yelp to find a close-by qualified electrician. You can find individual service providers and holistic handyman websites. You can choose whichever style of service provider you prefer. If you live in a closed community, you can stick with yellow pages too.

Check testimonials and review

Before appointing an electrician, it is always a good idea to know how good they do their job and how reliable they are. You can get such information by checking their job review by previous clients. While checking online, do not get turned off by one negative review. To err is human and do not expect a completely good review. Choose good experts with a maximum number of good reviews. Word of mouth from your friends or neighbors is more reliable than an online review.

Check qualification

Many people think the jobs of an electrician is very easy. They also believe that anyone with little experience can handle this work. Thus, they hire any local electrician to do their electrical services. Beneath the surface, the job is very complicated. Even a small miscalculation can lead to serious fire damage or personal injury. Therefore, always check the educational and technical qualifications of the electrician before appointing for the task. You need not ask for their certificates. Just check about their experience and any accreditation, if possible. Such certifications and accreditations are usually proudly displayed on their website or business card.

Check License

As you know, different electrical appliances required different levels of electricity to function. Some appliances like phones, laptops, TV runs on 110-volt electricity, where other appliances like water pump require 220-volt electricity. Some big appliances, like HVAC systems, run on 440-volt electricity. So if you are installing a heavy appliance like an HVAC on your premises then definitely contact some commercial HVAC contractors for the job. Always check whether the company has a state-approved license or not. Never hire an unlicensed electrician. If not, in case of any electrical accident, your insurance claim will be rejected.

Ask for an estimate

Depending on the experience and the complexity of the job, different contractors demand different amounts of money. As an example, the Jersey city air conditioning repair cost may vary from contractor to contractor. Therefore, always ask a written estimated cost of the job, before you assign it to anyone. Depending upon the budget and your requirement, choose the appropriate one.

Are you looking for a reliable electrician who fits all the criteria mentioned above? Give us a call today, and get your estimate.

HVAC Smart Control Systems

The word ‘HVAC’ is an acronym for ‘Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning systems. These HVAC systems are very beneficial and come in handy to reduce the energy consumption in most of the unoccupied zone of a building. One of the most useful features of HVAC systems is that they can keep adapting the operation to fit the energy requirements of the building:

If you still haven’t done installed any an HVAC installation in NJ at your home, here are a few reasons why you might want to do it:

#1. It helps to lower the energy costs
If you are a property manager, a building owner, or just a simple homeowner then the operating costs of your building or your home can be a significant concern for you. But now, due to the development of technology, that worry should not be a considerable issue anymore. The commercial HVAC systems can help alleviate some of the operating costs by using the HVAC smart control systems.
The smart controls calibrated by the HVAC companies in southern NJ can maintain the entire building’s climate automatically and also in a way that is the most energy-efficient. What’s more, is that the components of the HVAC system, such as the dampers and valves, can be monitored individually. They can also be reset depending on the needs of the residents of the building. This means that you do not need to allow the whole system to be turned on when you only need one component of it to work correctly throughout the day.

#2. Integration of the entire system
The system integration is just one more added benefit of HVAC smart control systems. In case your smart controls are not working or you need them to update, contact a good HVAC repair South Jersey Company in your local area. With the help of the smart control features, you can connect all of the essential systems together like the interior lighting, access control panel system, etc.
The levels of the lighting and the temperature of the building or the room, in particular, can be determined based on factors such as room occupancy and how many people are in the particular area of the building. The HVAC system will warm up depending on the number of people present in the room and temperature will gradually increase or decrease when the people will leave the premises.
This kind of advanced integration of the HVAC systems is of great advantage to the companies or businesses that have a lot of employees in their office buildings, especially if they do not have the regular work hours as most other companies do.
